Dubbed a ‘digital nursery’, Babbu is an early-years ecosystem designed to empower parents to better support their child's development in the first five years of their life. Founder Tyrell James says: ‘We aim to democratize access to early years education through an all-in-one app that beautifully integrates daily early-years foundation stage [EYFS] activities alongside a supportive community of experts – for everyone, everywhere.’ The company plans to operate a subscription-based ‘buy one, give one’ business model, distributing free access to the platform to the UK's most vulnerable families via partnerships with charities and local authorities. Tyrell says that the grant proceeds will go towards digital advertising and PR, as well as a marketing internship.
